The next announced screen chapter is season three of Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians, premiering November 20, 2026, and adapting The Titan’s Curse.
Is another Percy Jackson movie confirmed?
No. Disney’s announced continuation is a television season, not a new theatrical film. The official announcements reviewed do not give a new movie a title, cast, production start, or release date. That means a new film is unconfirmed—not that one has been canceled or can never be made.
The most recent feature films named in a December 2025 interview are Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters; the interview identifies the latter as having come out in 2013. MeriStation’s interview with Rick Riordan discusses why he wanted a different format for adapting the books.
What Percy Jackson screen project is coming next?
Season three of the Disney+ series
Disney announced season three of Percy Jackson and the Olympians on March 14, 2025. It is based on The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan’s series. Disney later set the season’s premiere for November 20, 2026. The announcements also say the first two seasons are available on Disney+; availability can vary by region and change over time.

Why did Rick Riordan favor a series over more movies?
In a MeriStation interview updated December 17, 2025, Riordan said that when talks with Disney began, he argued for a television series and did not want to make more movies. He explained that films are generally shorter than he felt was appropriate for adapting the novels, while a series gives the story more room for character development and scenes. This is Riordan’s stated preference; it does not rule out a film in the future.
MeriStation published his comments in Spanish. He said, “Cuando empezamos a hablar con Disney fui firme a la hora de plantear que, en mi opinión, había que hacer una serie de televisión. Me preguntaron: ‘¿No quiere hacer películas otra vez?’. Respondí que no”. In English: “When we started talking with Disney, I was firm in arguing that, in my opinion, it should be a television series. They asked me, ‘Don’t you want to make movies again?’ I answered no.”
