In May 2024, before the spinoff began, she said she was unsure about returning to acting as Missy after Young Sheldon ended and wanted to explore other roles. CBS later confirmed that she guest-starred as Missy in April 2025.
What Raegan Revord said about returning as Missy
In a May 15, 2024 interview with TVLine, Revord was asked whether she would reprise Missy in the new series. “I’m not sure,” she said. With Young Sheldon over, she was interested in trying different kinds of roles: “But now that it’s over, I’m also kind of excited to see what else is out there and try different things. Something dramatic would be a lot of fun.”

That was uncertainty at the time, not a definitive refusal or a statement that Missy could never appear. Revord also said she planned to attend tapings and support the new show’s stars, Montana Jordan and Emily Osment.
Missy did appear in the spinoff
CBS confirmed Revord’s return in its April 3, 2025 episode announcement for “Two Idiots on a Dirt Bike.” The release names both Zoe Perry, as Mary, and Revord, as Missy, as returning Young Sheldon stars. In the episode, Georgie tries to split Missy and her new boyfriend, but his effort backfires.

Guest appearances are different from being a regular
The distinction behind the original question is cast status. Revord was not announced as a regular cast member of the spinoff, but that did not prevent a guest appearance. In the 2024 TVLine interview, executive producer Steve Holland said the Young Sheldon characters were “still around and can make appearances and drop by.” CBS’s later episode announcement shows that Missy did just that.
The series centers on Georgie and Mandy as they raise their young family in Texas and navigate adulthood, parenting and marriage. CBS’s current series page lists the regular cast without Revord; that is a regular-cast listing, not evidence that Missy cannot return as a guest.
