Why the premise is premature
The upcoming ceremony is the 69th Annual Grammy Awards, commonly called the 2027 Grammys, and is scheduled for Feb. 7, 2027. Its nominees are not yet public. The Academy’s announcement schedule means that no artist’s place on the 2027 list can be confirmed as of Oct. 8, 2026. The Academy’s announcement sets Nov. 16, 2026, as the nomination date.

Which Grammy cycle applies?
“This year” can mean the year of a ceremony or the year a recording was released. For the upcoming 2027 ceremony, the eligibility period covers eligible recordings and works released from Aug. 31, 2025, through Aug. 28, 2026. The preceding 2026 cycle covered releases from Aug. 31, 2024, through Aug. 30, 2025. Those are separate cycles; a release’s eligibility for one does not establish its status in the other. The Academy’s 2027 dates and its 2026 cycle dates identify the respective periods.
How a recording becomes a Grammy nominee
Being released during the eligibility period is not, by itself, enough to establish a nomination. The Academy’s 2027 guide says eligible recordings and works had to be formally entered during the Online Entry Period, July 7–Aug. 21, 2026. After entries are reviewed, voting members determine nominees in first-round voting, scheduled for Oct. 12–22, 2026. The public announcement follows on Nov. 16. The published rules explain the general process, but they do not disclose whether Swift or a representative entered a particular recording, nor do they establish an artist-specific screening outcome. Without that information—and before the nominee list is released—it would be speculation to say she failed to submit, was rejected, or was snubbed.

The scheduled date for checking Swift’s status is Nov. 16, 2026, when the Academy plans to announce the nominees. Until the official list is public, the accurate answer is that no 2027 nomination—or lack of one—has been confirmed.
