Buddha Lo won Top Chef Season 20, subtitled World All-Stars, beating Sara Bradley and Gabriel “Gabri” Rodriguez in a finale held in Paris. Bravo’s winner report, published June 8, 2023, says the win made Lo the first World All-Stars champion and the first chef to win two consecutive seasons of the show.
The finalists and the finale setting
Three chefs reached the last round: Lo, Bradley, and Rodriguez. Bravo reports that the finalists competed in Paris, France, with the freedom to prepare a four-course progressive meal for special guests and judges Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio, and Gail Simmons. Bravo’s report states that the season had 16 competitors.
What the finale required
The final challenge was open-ended in format. Each finalist designed a progressive meal of four courses, served to the same panel. Bravo describes the structure as a single service in Paris rather than a series of separate elimination cooks, so the outcome rested on the full four-course menu.

Bravo reports that Lo’s four courses were:
- Clam velouté, which Bravo ties to the United States.
- Lobster curry, which Bravo ties to Malaysia.
- Ngau lam, which Bravo ties to Hong Kong.
- Lamington, which Bravo describes as Lo’s favorite Australian dessert.
These descriptions come from Bravo’s report. They are not firsthand tasting notes, and the report does not describe how each dish was received by the judges.

Why Lo won, and what the sources do not say
Bravo’s report names the winner and describes the finalists’ setting and Lo’s menu, but it does not provide a full comparison of Bradley’s and Rodriguez’s courses, nor a detailed judges’ explanation for the decision. Any account of the margin or of individual scoring would go beyond what the official coverage establishes.
Lo’s reaction and the judges’ remarks
In his post-win finale interview, as quoted by Bravo, Lo said: “I just won Top Chef back-to-back. Oh, that feels unreal to say. It’s the biggest moment of my life.” Tom Colicchio, speaking to the finalists, crew, and fans, called the season’s 20th installment “a milestone for us,” crediting “every single person here” who puts “their blood, sweat, and tears into making this show,” and thanking the chefs who “work their asses off to really make this happen.”

Watching the finale
Peacock’s catalog lists the finale as Season 20, Episode 14, titled “Fin,” and summarizes the final three cooking in Paris for Padma, Tom, and Gail. Streaming availability depends on region and can change, so check Peacock directly before watching.
