Neil Diamond’s wife is Katie McNeil, who is also called Katie Diamond in recent coverage. ABC News reported that they married in Los Angeles on April 21, 2012. McNeil had worked as Diamond’s manager, and she produced the 2009 concert documentary Hot August Night/NYC.
Who Katie McNeil is
Katie McNeil is the wife of singer-songwriter Neil Diamond. Her professional connection to him is the most documented part of her public story. A 2012 report identified her as his manager, and CBS News tied her to the production of his concert film. Contemporaneous coverage of the marriage also described it as Diamond’s third.
How they came together
ABC News reported that the couple met in 2007. CBS News, which reported the engagement in September 2011, connects McNeil’s work with Diamond to the 2009 documentary. Neither account gives a full, independently confirmed history of when their personal relationship began, so the 2007 date should be read as ABC’s reporting rather than a detail confirmed by several outlets.
Her work on Hot August Night/NYC
McNeil produced Hot August Night/NYC, a concert documentary of Diamond’s performances. Its production credit is the clearest link between her career and his catalog of recorded work.

Physical release
A City of Los Angeles document lists a 2009 DVD release of the film under the slightly different title Hot August Nights / NYC. The same document refers to Diamond living with his wife, Katie McNeil. Because it is a municipal record rather than a retail listing, it confirms the 2009 DVD release but says nothing about whether copies are sold today.
Checking availability
- Search retailers for both title forms, Hot August Night/NYC and Hot August Nights / NYC.
- Confirm the format (DVD or another format), edition and region before buying, because older physical releases can differ between sellers.
- Expect that stock may be limited or unavailable; this article did not verify current retail stock.
What Katie Diamond has said recently
In remarks to People in December 2025, Katie Diamond described the relationship in her own words. Good Morning America reported them as: “We’re best friends, and we really support each other. We lift each other up, and through thick and thin, through sickness and health, we really live it. And I think that that’s the secret.”

This is her own account of the marriage. It is useful for understanding how she describes it, but it is not an independent verification of their private life.
