When did Naomi Osaka and Cordae date?
Reporting places the start of their relationship in 2019. They later became parents to their daughter, Shai, who was born in Los Angeles in July 2023.
When did they break up?
Osaka announced on January 6, 2025, that she and Cordae were no longer together. She said, “No bad blood at all, he’s a great person and an awesome dad.” She also wrote, “Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together.” The Associated Press report reproduced her statement.

Why did Naomi Osaka and Cordae break up?
Osaka did not give a reason in the announcement reported by the Associated Press. The statement’s positive comments about Cordae do not explain why they separated, and a cause should not be inferred from timing, lyrics, social-media posts, or speculation.
Are Naomi Osaka and Cordae married?
The reports describe Cordae as Osaka’s boyfriend or partner and do not establish that they married. They also do not establish private custody arrangements or a later change to the relationship status Osaka announced in January 2025.
