When They Married
According to Hamill’s official biography, the couple married in 1978. In an April 2018 report, ABC News reporter Clayton Sandell wrote that the couple had been married for 40 years and were expecting to mark their anniversary that December. That “40 years” figure was accurate as of 2018. It is a historical detail, not a current count.
Their Three Children
Hamill and Marilou have three children:

Family Life Away from Hollywood
In her 2018 conversation with ABC News, Marilou described a quieter routine than the typical Hollywood social calendar. She said: “We don’t live in town, so we don’t go in and do all the party circuits.” The remark offers a sense of how the family has tended to live, though it is one interview from one point in time.
Hamill has also spoken about the start of the family.
