How did Jenna Fischer and Lee Kirk meet?
A biographical feature from The Knot says they connected in 2008 after Fischer pitched Kirk a film idea. The Giant Mechanical Man
Kirk wrote and directed the feature film The Giant Mechanical Man. Fischer starred in it and was also a producer, making it a direct collaboration between the two. In the film’s production-note Q&A, Fischer praised Kirk’s work as a director: “Lee’s gift is recognizing and drawing out other people’s talents and that’s what a good director does.” Film production notes

Kirk directed “Vandalism,” season nine, episode fourteen of The Office. He also appeared on the show as Clark, the lactation consultant. On the Office Ladies podcast, Fischer explained that Greg Daniels had seen The Giant Mechanical Man and asked Kirk whether he wanted to direct an episode.
