The name comes from coverage of a June 2025 promotional video, not from Gauff’s 2024 interview, and the most recent coverage located for this article (dated late August and early September 2026) describes breakup speculation without confirming that the couple has split. Her current relationship status is therefore not established.
The short answer
The man Gauff has been linked to publicly is Jalen Sera. She did not name him when she first discussed her relationship in 2024. ELLE later reported that she identified him in a June 2025 promotional video, saying they were marking their two-year anniversary. Reporting from August and September 2026 describes social-media activity that fans read as a sign of a split, but none of the coverage reviewed shows Gauff confirming a change.

What Gauff said in 2024
In a TIME profile published April 23, 2024, Gauff said she had been dating someone for about a year. She called it her “first real relationship” and said that having someone outside tennis to talk to gave her a fresh perspective on her career.
She kept his identity private. According to the same profile, he is from Atlanta and is not famous. Gauff’s mother, Candi Gauff, was quoted in the piece about him: “He’s always been a smart, nice kid.”

Two details matter for reading the later coverage. First, the 2024 statements were made without a name attached. Second, “about a year” as of April 2024 points to a start in roughly 2023, which lines up with the anniversary Gauff referenced in 2025.
Who Jalen Sera is, as reported
ELLE’s account of a June 2025 promotional video reports that Gauff identified Jalen Sera as her boyfriend. In the clip, as ELLE quotes it, she said: “That’s my boyfriend, and today’s actually our two-year anniversary.” This is ELLE’s description of the video; the quotation should be attributed to that report rather than treated as a verbatim transcript.

ELLE also says Gauff described Sera in a 2024 Vogue interview as a student interested in music school and acting who plays guitar. Those are details she gave in 2024. They are not an up-to-date biography, and no 2026 source reviewed for this article updates them.
The 2026 breakup speculation
In late summer 2026, fans began questioning the relationship after social-media posts. ELLE’s August 23, 2026 article, “All About Coco Gauff’s Romantic History With Jalen Sera,” reports the speculation and states that Gauff had not confirmed any change in her relationship. TV Insider and Swooon followed on September 5, 2026 with a piece titled “Does Coco Gauff Have a Boyfriend? Her Jalen Sera Romance & Split Rumors.” That article also reports rumors without a confirmed breakup.

What is still unconfirmed
- Whether Gauff and Sera are still together as of today. The latest coverage found is from early September 2026, and it does not settle the question.
- Whether the social-media activity reflects a real change. The reporting describes the speculation itself, not any statement from the couple.
- Any current details about Sera beyond what Gauff said in 2024 and what ELLE reported in 2025.
If a new statement from Gauff appears in an interview, a verified social-media post, or a press event, that would be the point at which the status can be stated with confidence.
