Cecily Strong’s fiancé is Jack MacGregor. Strong has said they met at a Christmas party in December 2019, became engaged in December 2023, and welcomed a daughter in April 2025. Public details about MacGregor beyond his relationship with Strong remain limited; the latest reviewed coverage, from July 2026, still described him as her fiancé.
Who is Jack MacGregor?
Strong’s fiancé is identified as Jack MacGregor in a July 2026 Us Weekly interview. The public accounts reviewed describe him as Strong’s partner and the father of their daughter, but do not establish a reliable occupation or fuller biography. Earlier coverage said his full name had not been publicly identified at that time; the later interview supplies the name.
How Cecily Strong and Jack met
Strong has said they met at a Christmas party in December 2019. According to Us Weekly’s account of their timeline, Strong later wrote that her agent encouraged her to speak to Jack. She was shy and tired, but they exchanged numbers and began dating. Travel plans kept them apart briefly soon after they met.
How their relationship unfolded
A new relationship alongside grief
In a 2020 essay for Vulture, Strong connected meeting Jack with the period when she was grieving her younger cousin Owen. As quoted in Us Weekly’s timeline, she wrote, “I think you (Jack) were a gift to me from Owen. And I like thinking of it that way.” That was Strong’s personal way of describing the relationship in the context of grief, not a claim about Owen’s intentions.

Engagement in December 2023
Strong said on Late Night with Seth Meyers in March 2024 that she and Jack became engaged the previous December. She recalled that Jack showed her a phone notification from a friend asking how the proposal went and including a ring emoji. Strong joked, “I could try very hard to lie, but…” as she explained how she learned what was planned, according to Us Weekly’s reporting.
Pregnancy and the birth of their daughter
In November 2024, Strong announced that she was pregnant with their first child and said the pregnancy was through IVF at age 40, as reported in Us Weekly’s timeline. Strong announced their daughter’s birth in an Instagram post on April 10, 2025. E! reported that the couple kept their daughter’s name private. Strong called her “absolutely perfect” and wrote that she “won the lottery.”

Are Cecily Strong and Jack married?
