Clark Kent ends up with Lois Lane. Lana Lang is his formative first love and a major part of the earlier story, but Smallville ultimately makes Clark and Lois a couple and points them toward marriage in the series finale.

Clark and Lana: his first love, not his final choice
Lana anchors Clark’s early romantic life. Their relationship remains emotionally significant through secrecy and setbacks, and the series returns to it even after major turns in their story.
One pivotal event needs a continuity distinction: the proposal in the 100th episode happens in a timeline that Clark erases when he saves Lana. It is not a lasting engagement. TV Guide’s retrospective also notes Clark pursuing Lana in season six’s “Promise,” showing that their connection remains part of the story afterward. TV Guide retrospective
Lois arrives before the romance takes shape
Lois enters in season four, but Clark and Lois do not immediately become a couple. Their relationship grows through banter and working together, with their distinct personalities intact as affection develops. In a 2010 interview, Lois actor Erica Durance said they had finally become a couple after more than eight seasons. “What I like about them, as they’re getting together, they’re still being Lois and Clark.” TV Guide, February 4, 2010

In season ten, Clark seeks Jor-El’s blessing for his marriage to Lois in “Prophecy,” and the series ends with a two-part finale. Their wedding plans are disrupted by the larger crisis, so the ending is not a smooth ceremony from start to finish. The finale instead confirms their commitment and intended union.
