In January 2023 she pushed back on speculation about the drug, asking people to stop making assumptions about her body. That statement challenges the rumor. It does not establish her medical history either way. No complete, verifiable list of celebrities who use Ozempic exists, so this article names only people whose own public statements are documented, and it explains what each statement does and does not show.
What Kardashian said in January 2023
Vanity Fair reported on January 4, 2023 that Kardashian responded to an Instagram comment after speculation linking her to Ozempic and Wegovy. She wrote: “Let’s not discredit my years of working out. I get up 5 days a week at 6am to train. Please stop with your assumptions. I guess new year still means mean people.” (Vanity Fair, January 4, 2023). RealSelf later reported the same response in its January 2023 roundup.
The statement establishes a narrow set of facts:
- She publicly objected to assumptions about how she looks and said her workout routine should not be discounted.
- She did not name a medication, a prescription, a dose, or a treatment.
- It is a January 2023 statement. It says nothing about her circumstances today.
Accurate wording is “Kardashian pushed back on Ozempic speculation in January 2023.” Describing her as a confirmed Ozempic user goes beyond anything she has said.
Chelsea Handler’s account
The Los Angeles Times reported on January 25, 2023 that Chelsea Handler described unknowingly sampling semaglutide after a doctor offered it to her, and later said it was not right for her (Los Angeles Times, January 25, 2023).

Her account is a past disclosure about semaglutide, the active ingredient. It does not describe a prescribed Ozempic course, ongoing use, or a deliberate weight-loss plan. Listing her as an “Ozempic user” adds a product and a current status that her account does not give.

Why a complete celebrity list cannot be verified
Medication use is private health information unless the person discloses it reliably. Most lists circulating online are built from sources that cannot confirm use:

- Anonymous claims from unnamed insiders or aggregator sites
- Comparisons of before-and-after photos or body shape
- Social media posts and comment threads
- Weight changes, which have many causes unrelated to any drug
An entry belongs on a list only when it can be traced to the person’s own on-record statement, or to equally reliable documentation. By that standard, the verified entries are limited to the two statements above, and neither confirms current Ozempic use.
What Ozempic is approved for, and how it differs from Wegovy
Ozempic and Wegovy are separate branded products that both contain semaglutide, but they carry different U.S. labeled uses. The same active ingredient does not mean the same approved use, population, or dose.

Ozempic is not approved as a general cosmetic weight-loss drug. Labels change, so check the current version of each label before relying on any indication listed here.
Boxed warning on thyroid tumors
The Ozempic label carries a boxed warning. It states: “In rodents, semaglutide causes thyroid C-cell tumors. It is unknown whether OZEMPIC causes thyroid C-cell tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), in humans…” The human relevance is unknown. The label lists contraindications for people with a personal or family history of MTC or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2. Read the full boxed warning in the official label, and discuss it with a prescriber, because it is prescription treatment that requires clinical oversight.

Unapproved GLP-1 products
FDA states that unapproved versions of GLP-1 drugs do not undergo FDA review for safety, effectiveness, and quality before marketing. FDA advises patients to get a prescription from a doctor and fill it at a state-licensed pharmacy (FDA, concerns with unapproved GLP-1 drugs used for weight loss).

- Find the person’s own words in an interview, an on-record statement, or their verified social account. Note the date.
- Check the exact product. If they said “a diabetes drug” or “semaglutide,” do not upgrade that to “Ozempic” or to a prescription.
- Sort the claim into one category: rumor, denial or challenge, past reported sampling, or confirmed current use.
- Check whether the outlet quotes the person directly or repeats someone else’s claim. Repeated rumor is not corroboration.
- Do not infer medication use from appearance or weight change.
Applied to Kardashian, the check ends at step three: she publicly challenged the speculation in January 2023, and no documented statement confirms that she has used Ozempic.
