To find a video game soundtrack online, search the exact game title with “official soundtrack” or “original game soundtrack” in the music app you already use. Then confirm that the album is actually in that service’s catalog and in your country, because no single streaming service carries every game score. The most reliable checks are the publisher’s, developer’s, or composer’s own soundtrack pages, which usually link to every platform that carries the release.
Start with the exact title and the official album name
Many soundtrack searches fail because the reader types only the game name, which pulls up fan arrangements, covers, and playlists. Readers in public discussions ask questions like “Where to listen to official Soundtracks???” and “What are the best video game OSTs actually available on Apple Music?” Those are individual posts, not survey results, but they show the two needs most people have: an authorized place to listen, and a way to check a specific service’s catalog. Another common complaint is that a publisher either keeps a score off streaming services entirely or releases only part of it, as one streaming availability discussion puts it.

- Search the exact game title plus “official soundtrack” or “original game soundtrack” in Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, Deezer, or Amazon Music.
- Open the album page and check the artist credit. An official release is normally credited to the composer, the game’s sound team, or the publisher, not to an unrelated uploader.
- Check the track list against the game’s known soundtrack. A short list of selected tracks is a different product from a full score.
- If the album is missing, go to the publisher, developer, or composer’s own soundtrack page (see below) before concluding that it is unavailable.
- Check the territory. Catalog rights are set per country, so a release visible in one country may be missing in another.
Where official soundtracks appear, route by route
The routes below differ in what they offer and how much the sources confirm about them. The table lists only what the cited pages establish; where a source is silent on a point, the cell says so.
| Route | What it offers | What the source establishes, and when | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Major streaming apps (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, Deezer, Amazon Music) | Streaming of selected soundtracks | Bandai Namco Europe’s page (2019) lists Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Napster, and Tidal for selected titles. Bloober Team’s announcement of April 14, 2026 places The Medium, Observer System Redux, Layers of Fear, and Cronos: The New Dawn on Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, and Amazon Music. | Availability is per title and per territory. The 2019 page is historical and does not prove current availability for any title. |
| Apple Music Gaming page | Editorial gaming section with examples such as Hollow Knight, Persona 5, Journey, Hades, and Celeste | Discovery page; the source does not state a date for the listing. | Not a catalog guarantee. The page does not show that every listed title is available in every country. |
| Ubisoft Music on Apple Music | Publisher-run curator playlists | Apple Music lists Ubisoft Music as an official curator. | Not stated whether the playlists cover complete scores. |
| Publisher YouTube channel: Bandai Namco Game Music | Original soundtracks from a named set of franchises, free for listeners in the EMEA region | Launch announced July 27, 2023. | Regional, and limited to the franchises named at launch. Not generalized to all viewers or all publishers. |
| Publisher label site: Bandai Namco Game Music | Publisher-specific music catalog with streaming and download announcements | The site describes itself as the publisher’s music label for music from Bandai Namco games. | Not stated which titles or territories each announcement covers. |
| Composer or developer link page (Hades II, Supergiant Games) | Links to Spotify, Apple Music, Qobuz, Tidal, Deezer, Bandcamp, and YouTube | Official soundtrack link page for Hades II. | A link list, not a guarantee that each link is live in your country. Check each link. |
| Bandcamp | Direct purchase or download where the artist or label has released the album there | GameChops states that listeners can buy directly on Bandcamp to support artists. | Downloads are purchases, not subscription streams. GameChops focuses on remixes and covers, which are not original scores. |
| Nintendo Music | Nintendo-focused app with a catalog of selected Nintendo game soundtracks | A secondary overview describes the app as connected to Nintendo Switch Online. | Current membership terms, supported countries, and catalog scope not verified against a Nintendo page. Check Nintendo directly. |
Free official listening: the publisher YouTube channel model
Bandai Namco Europe launched its Bandai Namco Game Music YouTube channel on July 27, 2023. The announcement named CODE VEIN, DARK SOULS, ELDEN RING, Little Nightmares, SOULCALIBUR VI, Tales of Arise, TEKKEN, The Dark Pictures Anthology, and Park Beyond, and said EMEA listeners could hear those original soundtracks for free. At launch the announcement cited more than 1,000 tracks. That figure describes the channel in 2023, not its current size, so check the channel itself before quoting a track count.

The model is useful beyond that one channel. When a publisher runs its own music channel, the catalog is the publisher’s to choose, so the page is a reliable source for which titles it offers. The limit is equally clear: a channel covers only what its owner uploads, and a 2023 regional announcement does not extend to other territories or other publishers.
Composer and developer pages are the fastest cross-service check
When a single album is hard to find, look for the team’s own soundtrack page. Supergiant Games’ Hades II soundtrack link page points to Spotify, Apple Music, Qobuz, Tidal, Deezer, Bandcamp, and YouTube from one place, so a reader can confirm that the release is official before choosing a service. Bandai Namco’s own soundtrack roundup, published in 2019, follows a similar pattern by listing the streaming and download outlets it used for selected soundtracks at that time.
Buying a download is different from streaming
Bandcamp is the clearest purchase route. Where an artist or label has released a soundtrack there, the reader can buy it directly, which also sends money to the creator. A purchase gives you a file you keep, not access to a catalog while you pay a monthly fee. Streaming services, by contrast, grant access to what is in their catalog and can remove titles when rights change.
Rank #2
- Limited Edition of 1000
- Blue & Pink Translucent Blend Colored Vinyl
- Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart Exclusive Vinyl Colorway
Check what kind of release you are buying. Original scores, arrangements, remixes, and covers all carry game names, and only the original score is the official soundtrack. GameChops offers remixes and covers on Bandcamp and sells limited vinyl pressings. Those are collecting options, not the answer to where to listen online, and they should not be presented as the original score.
Nintendo soundtracks need a separate check
Nintendo Music is a separate route from the general streaming services. The overview available to this article describes it as a Nintendo mobile app connected to Nintendo Switch Online, with a catalog of selected Nintendo soundtracks. That source is secondary, so verify membership requirements, supported countries, and the current catalog on Nintendo’s own pages before relying on it. Do not assume that Nintendo titles are generally available on third-party services; the evidence does not establish that.
Why some soundtracks are incomplete
Partial catalogs are common. Some services carry only selected tracks from a score, while others carry the full album. The sources do not explain why a publisher picks one approach over another, and they do not establish a universal rule. The practical implication is to read the track count and the artist credit before deciding that a release is complete.
A checklist before you assume a soundtrack is available
- The album is credited to the composer, sound team, or publisher, not to an uploader.
- The track list matches the official score, not a selection or a remix set.
- The service’s territory includes your country.
- The publisher, developer, or composer page links to the same release.
- For a purchase, the item is an original release on Bandcamp or the artist’s store, not an arrangement.
No service in the sources is established as the best or cheapest option, and no current price comparison was found. Choose the route that matches what you want: a subscription for streaming, a purchase for a file you keep, or the publisher channel for free listening where it exists.
