Confirmed filming areas
The Mazovia Warsaw Film Commission’s production retrospective identifies Podhale as the main shooting area. It also confirms filming in Warsaw and Jadwisin, near Warsaw, and names the Infant Jesus Clinical Hospital on Lindley Street as a Warsaw location.

A Polish Press Agency report published on 25 October 2022, when filming had begun in Zakopane, named Zakopane, Nowy Targ, Warsaw and Slovakia among the planned locations. Lead actor Borys Szyc said the production had moved to Zakopane and would film there over the coming months. The commission says shooting began at the end of 2022, with part of the filming in Warsaw at the beginning of 2023.
What the show’s Tatra setting does—and doesn’t—tell you
Netflix describes the story as a mountaintop murder investigation involving the Beast of Giewont. That setting does not mean every mountain scene was filmed at Giewont. The production information places the main filming in Podhale, while the scene-specific matches below are identifications by a location guide rather than a production-issued list.

Scene locations identified by a travel guide
MyNaSzlaku’s January 2024 location guide associates different scenes with places in Poland and Slovakia. Its identifications include reader contributions and varying levels of certainty, so treat them as viewing and itinerary leads rather than official confirmations.
- Kościelisko: the guide associates the Forst trailer with the area, noting that the identification was initially uncertain and later informed by a reader tip.
- Leśnica: a local reader told the guide that scenes representing Giewont were filmed by the Jubilee Cross in Leśnica, not on Giewont itself.
- Młynica: identified by the guide as the location associated with the opening view of the Slovak Tatras.
- Other places named: Szczawnica, Krościenko nad Dunajcem, Białka Gorge, Tatranská Javorina, Čierna Hora, Ždiar, Lomnica, the Inhalatorium in Szczawnica and Dwór Głowińskich in Raba Wyżna.
The guide says it cannot identify every location and marks Kalatówki as uncertain. Its list is not a guarantee that all named places were used in the finished series.

Planning a visit to filming locations
Use the commission-confirmed sites as the clearest production leads, and keep the guide’s scene matches separate from those official confirmations. Before adding a stop to a trip, check the site’s current public access and any restrictions: access to every location, including private property, has not been established here.
