He described London as a long-held ambition, but framed the move in connection with music and performances—not as a declaration that he had permanently left the United States. iHeartCountry likewise reported that he called London a bucket-list experience while saying the Carolinas remained home: iHeartCountry’s February 3, 2025 report.
Why he said the Carolinas were still home
Rucker added: “Always been on the bucket list — but don’t get it twisted y’all … nothing will ever replace the Carolinas and it is still home.” That statement distinguishes where he said he was living at the time—London—from the place he continued to call home. It does not establish whether he also maintained a residence in the United States.
