The official film material confirms her as a Titan in that film and places her within the movie’s broader exploration of Titan origins. It does not provide a full ancient biography for her, and it does not confirm that she will return in the next announced Monsterverse film.
Who Shimo is in The New Empire
Shimo is an ice-based Titan who appears in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, the follow-up to Godzilla vs. Kong. The official Warner Bros. and Legendary movie page describes the film as digging into the histories of the Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island. That framing is the strongest official context for her role: she is part of the film’s Titan storyline rather than a standalone character with a published backstory.
Because the official synopsis is short, it does not lay out her scene-by-scene role, her control mechanism, her powers, or her final status in the story. Anything more specific than that should be described as events depicted in the film itself, not as facts the official summary establishes.
What the official film page establishes
The studio’s own description is brief, and its wording is the best guide to what can be stated without speculation. The page says the film:
#1 Best Overall
- A PREVIEWS Exclusive
- Faithfully recreating every aspect of Shimo's appearance from the film
- Figure features multiple joints throughout the body
- Measures about 6.6” tall
- Each scale is lovingly crafted with multiple layers of paint
- follows Godzilla vs. Kong and continues the Monsterverse storyline;
- explores the histories and origins of the Titans;
- covers the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond;
- depicts a mythic battle that the page says helped forge the Titans and tied them to humankind.
The official page does not give a detailed biography for Shimo. It is an institutional description, not an interview with a named filmmaker, so it cannot be used as a quote about Shimo specifically.
Separating confirmed lore from fan claims
Fan discussion often attaches specific history to Shimo. Some of those claims are repeated widely, but the official pages do not verify them. The table below sorts the most common ones by what the evidence supports.

| Shimo is a Titan who appears in The New Empire | Supported by the official film page |
| The film explores Titan histories and origins | Supported by the official film page, as a general theme |
| Shimo is the “first Titan” | Not verified |

| Shimo has a defined ancient chronology | Not verified |
| Shimo has a prior relationship with Godzilla | Not verified |
| Her age, height, or a precise ice-age date | Not stated in official material |
Visual design is not evidence of backstory. A character’s look can suggest a theme, but it does not establish canon, so readers should treat a design-based reading as interpretation.

Shimo in Godzilla Battle Line
Shimo was announced as a unit in TOHO’s game Godzilla Battle Line on June 14, 2024 (Pacific time), alongside the Skar King. That is a dated announcement. It does not prove that Shimo is currently available in the game, and readers should check the game’s own update notes for present-day status.

What comes next in the Monsterverse
The next announced Monsterverse film is Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, scheduled for March 26, 2027. The official announcement names Grant Sputore as director and Dave Callaham as writer. It does not mention Shimo, so her return should not be presented as confirmed. Release dates can move, so check the studio’s current listings before relying on the date.
