Fortnite Winterfest 2025 is over. It ran from December 18, 2025 at 9 AM ET to January 5, 2026 at 9 AM ET, so there is no upcoming start date to wait for in this edition. As of October 8, 2026, the official announcements covering this event describe it only as a past event. This guide covers the dates, how the cabin rewards worked, what the Harry Potter tie-in included, and what the available sources do and do not say about whether those items are still on sale.
Winterfest 2025 dates
Epic Games’ official Winterfest announcement gives the event window as follows:
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Start | December 18, 2025 at 9 AM ET |
| End | January 5, 2026 at 9 AM ET |
| Status as of October 8, 2026 | Past event |
Eastern time was in standard time for the whole window, so 9 AM ET corresponds to 14:00 UTC on both dates. Epic’s launch post, “Fortnite Winterfest 2025: Get in the Spirit!” (December 18, 2025), framed the event with this line: “Golden Coast sunshine meets snow for Winterfest 2025, live December 18 at 9 AM ET ’til January 5 at 9 AM ET!” Source: Fortnite / Epic Games, December 18, 2025.
How the cabin and presents worked
Winterfest’s main reward system was a cabin containing 14 presents, according to Epic Games’ 2025 announcement. Players could open one present per day, and the cabin refreshed each day at 9 AM ET. Some outfits were tied to how many presents a player had opened:

The Harry Potter collaboration
Epic Games’ December 11, 2025 announcement, “This December, celebrate the world of Harry Potter in Fortnite, Rocket League and the Epic Games Store,” said: “Later in December, the Fortnite Shop will feature Outfits and accessories inspired by the wizarding world.”
Hogwarts house customization
The Harry Potter Shop items were announced as outfits and accessories from the wizarding world, with each outfit customizable for one of the four Hogwarts houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff. The announcement presented these as Fortnite Shop items. It did not describe them as cabin presents, so do not assume they were tied to the daily Winterfest reward track.

The Hogwarts Legacy promotion
A separate Epic announcement covered Hogwarts Legacy. The game was free on the Epic Games Store through December 18, 2025 at 11 AM ET. Players who spent at least two hours in Hogwarts Legacy by that deadline could earn Fortnite’s Chocolate Frog Back Bling. That offer is over, and its deadline has passed.
What is and is not established about current availability
The official announcements establish the original release periods for the Winterfest rewards and the Harry Potter Shop items. They do not establish whether any of those outfits, accessories, or Shop listings are still available in the Item Shop today. If you are looking for a specific item, check the Item Shop in Fortnite directly rather than relying on the event dates.

How to tell when the next Winterfest starts
The sources covering this edition do not state a schedule for a future Winterfest, so no start date for another year can be predicted from them. To find an announced date:
- Open Fortnite’s official news section on fortnite.com.
- Look for a post titled with the event name and the year, as with the December 18, 2025 Winterfest post.
- Check the start and end times in ET, and convert them to your local time zone, since Epic’s posts use 9 AM ET for cabin and event timing.
Treat any date that appears on a third-party site without a matching Epic Games post as unconfirmed.

For this edition, the answer to the original question is simple: Winterfest 2025 ran from December 18, 2025 to January 5, 2026, and the Harry Potter tie-in was part of that same December window.
