In December 2015, Scroll.in reported on a satirical online clip titled “Darth Trump,” credited to the creator Auralnuts, in which Donald Trump’s speeches are dubbed over Darth Vader’s dialogue from the Star Wars films.
What the title refers to
The phrase is a video conceit. No meeting took place between Trump and a person in a Darth Vader costume. The “meeting” exists only in the editing: Trump’s soliloquies play over the lines Darth Vader speaks in the films, so the two figures appear to talk to each other.
Scroll.in’s report, published on December 10, 2015, describes the video’s premise and its closing joke. In that ending, Trump is reincarnated as a Jedi knight. The publication calls the piece satire and credits Auralnuts as its creator.
How the parody works
- Source material: Darth Vader’s actual movie dialogue, left intact.
- Replacement voice: Donald Trump’s soliloquies, edited over Vader’s lines.
- Effect: The mismatch of a political speaker’s rhetoric and a cinematic villain’s delivery is the joke’s engine.
- Ending: Trump is turned into a Jedi knight, a reversal that completes the Star Wars framing.
Because the report summarises the video rather than quoting it at length, the article cannot say which specific speeches were used or how long the clip runs. Readers who want those details should watch the video itself.

The December 2015 context
The report placed the video among two stories dominating the news and online conversation that month: Trump’s call to bar Muslims from entering the United States, and anticipation for a new Star Wars film. Scroll.in gave the film’s planned opening dates at the time as December 18, 2015, in the United States and December 25, 2015, in India. Those are historical release dates from that reporting, not a current schedule.
That context explains why the parody landed as it did. A cinematic villain was being used to voice a political figure during a period when both were in the headlines.

What is and is not established
- Established: the video exists as a 2015 online parody, its premise, its ending, and its attribution to Auralnuts, all as described by Scroll.in on December 10, 2015.
- Not established: any creator interview or statement of intent, view counts, production details, or whether the video is still hosted on its original platform.
- Not established: any official link between the parody and Lucasfilm, Disney, or the Trump campaign.
Why it is filed under documentaries
This is a satirical edit, not a documentary. It belongs in a documentary site’s coverage only as an example of how political figures get reshaped by fan editing and film clips, a practice that continued well after 2015. Treat the video as a piece of commentary on the moment it was made.
