In a Bravo interview published September 29, 2026, Meredith said she and Seth Marks have been married for 30 years, and that they once came close to divorce when communication broke down completely. Nothing in the coverage cited below reports a current separation.
The questions persist because the public record has real turbulence in it. Bravo has reported that the couple were separated when Real Housewives of Salt Lake City began and reconciled during Season 1. A postnuptial agreement, made roughly 15 years into the marriage, has also been discussed on air. The most-talked-about recent claim, that Seth was unfaithful, was raised by a castmate during the Season 6 reunion. Seth denied it on camera. That claim is an allegation and a denial, not an established fact.
What Meredith Marks has said most recently
Bravo’s September 29, 2026 interview, which frames the couple’s issues around RHOSLC Season 7, is the latest direct account of the marriage located for this article. Asked about the relationship, Meredith pointed first to the period when things nearly ended. “When we almost filed for divorce, like we were definitely on that trajectory, and when we’re going down that path it’s because our communication was completely broken,” she said.
She then named the lesson she took from it. “And so that’s, to me, the key to every good, positive, healthy marriage. Just making sure you’re really communicating.” She also described their preferred time together as simple walks and spontaneous dinners rather than big outings.

The interview is a personal account, not an independent check on the marriage. It tells you how Meredith describes the relationship in September 2026, and it is the anchor for everything that follows.
The history behind the questions
Most of the speculation about the marriage traces back to two documented chapters that Bravo has covered: the separation at the start of the show and the postnuptial agreement that followed years later.

Separated when the show began, reconciled in Season 1
Bravo reports that Meredith and Seth married in Chicago in 1996. It also reports that the couple were separated when viewers first met them on RHOSLC in 2020, and that they reconciled during that first season. Bravo’s October 18, 2022 interview, headlined “We’re Very Happy,” is a later personal account that followed that reconciliation.
The coverage cited here does not date the near-divorce Meredith described in September 2026. Do not assume it is the same period as the Season 1 separation.

The postnuptial agreement
In an October 9, 2024 interview, Bravo reported that the couple made a postnuptial agreement around 2011, about 15 years into the marriage. Meredith explained that she felt vulnerable while the family moved from Chicago to Park City with their children. She has said the agreement is about custody, not finances. The coverage does not describe the agreement’s terms beyond that, so readers should not assume details about property or money.
The infidelity allegation and Seth’s denial
The most serious claim in circulation came from the Season 6 reunion. Peacock’s recap, published January 21, 2026, reports that castmate Britani Bateman repeated an allegation that Seth had cheated. During the reunion, Meredith called Seth on the spot to address the rumor, and Seth denied it. His reply, as recorded in the recap: “But I also think anyone who thinks I’m cheating on you also believes in Santa Claus and Bigfoot and the Tooth Fairy.”

The recap documents what aired. It does not verify whether the allegation is true, and neither the recap nor the cited coverage presents independent proof either way. The claim should be reported as an allegation, and the denial as a denial.
The open-marriage question
Meredith has also addressed a related rumor directly. At BravoCon in 2025, she told Access Hollywood, in a video recap of the interview, that there is “no open marriage.” That statement is her own, and it is the only public position the coverage records on that question.

Earlier, in a September 15, 2025 Bravo interview ahead of Season 6, she pushed back on how the castmates portrayed the relationship. “Contrary to what my casemates may see, my dynamic with my husband, which is actually really positive and great,” Meredith responded. She acknowledged ordinary squabbles and said Seth’s remote work made it easier for them to travel and attend her events together.

How to read the coverage
- Separate direct quotes from recaps. Bravo’s interviews quote Meredith directly. Peacock’s reunion piece describes what aired, and the Access Hollywood item is a video recap of a single remark.
- Treat the infidelity claim as an allegation. It was raised by a castmate and denied by Seth. Neither side has been independently proven.
- Do not read on-screen conflict as a status update. The coverage cited here reports no current separation. Tension in an edited season is not evidence of one.
- Accept the limit of public information. The public record shows what the couple has said and what aired. It cannot show what is happening inside the marriage.
- Check availability before watching. Bravo identifies Peacock as the destination for RHOSLC episodes the day after they air. Streaming availability varies by region and changes over time, so confirm where you live before you look for them.
