Gia Giudice has faced backlash after speaking up in conflicts on The Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ), but the available reporting does not show that “everybody” hates her—or measure how common the criticism is. Two disputes help explain why she becomes a target of debate: Jackie Goldschneider’s 2021 analogy involving Gia, and a 2024 argument over John Fuda bringing up Gia while discussing his own teenage past.
Why does Gia draw criticism?
Gia grew up on RHONJ and later became more vocal in disputes involving her family and the cast. That puts her in an unusual position: she is Teresa Giudice’s daughter, but viewers also see her take part in arguments that usually center on the adult cast. Some viewers may object to her entering those conflicts; others see her responses as understandable when cast members bring her into them.
Gia has acknowledged the backlash. In an August 2024 interview on the Trading Secrets podcast, she said, “I also get a lot of backlash for it,” while discussing speaking up on the show. She also described the audience as divided between people who support her mother and those on the opposing side. That is her account of the dynamic, not a measurement of viewers’ opinions. What happened with Jackie Goldschneider in season 11?
In the 2021 season 11 premiere, Teresa repeated an unverified rumor about Jackie’s husband, Evan. Jackie responded with an analogy involving Gia. Gia objected that using her as part of the comparison could put her character in question. She wrote on Twitter, “Saying it was an analogy is making it excusable, it’s not.”

The drug reference in that exchange was an analogy, not evidence that Gia used drugs. Jackie later said the remark was an analogy and “there was no truth to it.” Entertainment Tonight reported that Gia’s social-media comments afterward included jokes and further accusations. Those reactions help explain why the scene generated backlash, but they do not establish the truth of any accusation. Entertainment Tonight’s report on the season 11 dispute
Why did John Fuda bring Gia up in season 14?
In season 14, John Fuda referred to Gia’s age while discussing his own teenage trouble with marijuana. Gia objected to having her name used in the comparison. In Bravo’s recap, Jennifer Fessler and Dolores Catania explained that Fuda was describing how someone might react if a child were brought up at that age.

The disagreement has two distinct parts: Gia objected to being used as a point of comparison, while others understood Fuda to be describing a parent’s reaction. The recap records that exchange; it does not establish malicious intent. Bravo’s season 14 recap
How does online fan culture affect the backlash?
RHONJ’s arguments spill into a sharply divided online fan culture. Entertainment Tonight described fan pages devoted to championing some people and attacking others. Teresa said the hostility affected cast members, their families, and their businesses. In a July 2024 statement, she urged viewers to stop targeting them, saying, “This hate and toxicity has to stop.” These are descriptions and claims attributed to the outlet and Teresa; they do not prove that any particular cast member directed online attacks. What is fair criticism, and what crosses the line?
Criticism of a televised choice—such as whether Gia should involve herself in a cast dispute—is different from personal attacks or repeating an unverified allegation as fact. It also matters whether a scene concerns an analogy, a claim, or a documented statement. The two disputes show how Gia can become part of an argument even when the original conflict is between other people; they do not show how representative either the criticism or her support is among viewers.
Later rumors are not proof of a broader feud. In June 2025, Gia called speculation about discord with Andy Cohen silly. Cohen said he had positive feelings toward Gia and Teresa and had not heard of discord. Bravo’s report on the 2025 comments
