What happened between Venita and JT?
Their friendship took on a romantic dimension after Season 10 wrapped. Bravo reported that the pair reconnected and began dating two months after filming ended, while the season itself left viewers unsure whether their on-camera connection was romantic or platonic. The later relationship and breakup happened off camera.
Venita said the relationship ended in October 2024. She recalled expecting to meet JT and his mother for lunch, then feeling that he had disappeared. In a January 2025 interview, she said they were still dating when the Season 10 trailer was released that October. In November, JT publicly posted about a girlfriend named Ali. Venita said she saw the post on Instagram at the same time as everyone else.
Why did Venita and JT break up?
They described the breakup differently. Venita said JT stopped communicating and that she was surprised by his public post about another girlfriend. JT said he had told Venita he was seeing someone at the dinner featured in Season 10, Episode 8. Their accounts conflict; the coverage does not establish precisely what either person understood or when.

Venita’s account
Venita described being left without an explanation and learning about JT’s new girlfriend through Instagram. Ahead of their reunion conversation, she said, “I want to hear what he has to say.”
JT’s account
JT said he believed they were on the same page and that Venita stopped responding, which hurt him. At the reunion, he called the situation a “big miscommunication” and said her anger was fair. The available coverage does not independently verify either person’s account of what was said privately.

What did they say at the Season 10 reunion?
The reunion was filmed on February 6, 2025, and aired in March. Venita said she had told JT she needed time, rather than ghosting him. JT said her lack of response hurt. They also addressed whether they could repair their friendship. JT said, “I’d like to repair it and get the friendship back.” Venita said she wanted the friendship and still wanted to date him, while acknowledging that he had a girlfriend.
What changed after the reunion?
In Bravo’s November 19, 2025 report about the Season 11 premiere, Venita described a later encounter after the reunion. She said JT came to her hotel room and stayed until about 5:30 a.m., telling her, “I really want to be with you.” Venita said she then hoped they might date, but that JT blocked her and “fell off the face of the earth.” This is Venita’s account as reported by Bravo; the source does not provide an independently confirmed account from JT of that encounter.

Are Venita and JT still friends or dating?
Their status after that November 2025 account is not established by the available sources. A later Bravo story in January 2026 described Venita’s connection with Carl Radke as friendly and exploratory, but it did not update her relationship or contact status with JT. Bravo lists Peacock as a streaming destination for Southern Charm.
