The President in Idiocracy is Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho, usually shortened to President Camacho. Terry Crews plays the role, and the full name is spoken in the film’s closing speech.
The full name and the short form
The complete name is Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho. Most viewers and fans refer to him as President Camacho, and that shorter form is the one used in most discussions of the film. Keeping the full name intact matters because the joke depends on its length and odd sequence of brand and given names, including “Mountain Dew” placed between the first and last names.
Where the full name is spoken
The full name is not delivered by the President himself. It appears in the closing speech of Joe Bowers, the film’s main character, played by Luke Wilson. Bowers steps into the presidency and introduces the leader he is replacing by reciting the name in full. In the transcript of the film’s dialogue, the line reads: “Today I step into the shoes of a great man, a man by the name of Dwayne Elizondo… Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho.”
The ellipsis reflects a pause in the transcript’s rendering of the line. Readers quoting the speech should check the wording against the film itself, since transcript punctuation is not part of the script.

What the sources do not settle
The name itself has no competing versions in the cited sources, so there is nothing to reconcile on that point. The sources reviewed here do not include a statement from Mike Judge or Terry Crews about the name, and no official production document is cited for the choice of “Mountain Dew” in the name. Anyone looking for the origin of the joke will need interviews or production materials outside this article’s evidence.
The AFI runtime of 84 minutes is a catalog entry, not a measured statistic, and it describes the standard release cited by AFI rather than every cut or regional edition.
