The Survivor 49 finale was scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025. CBS planned to interrupt it for President Donald Trump’s address, scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET, then resume the episode where it stopped immediately after the address. CBS said the finale would air in its entirety; it did not give a guaranteed return clock time.
When was the Survivor 49 finale scheduled to start?
CBS listed the finale for 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Dec. 17, 2025, according to its programming advisory published Dec. 16, 2025. The advisory concerned the 49th season, not a current-season finale.

When was Trump’s speech scheduled, and when would the show return?
The presidential address was scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. ET. CBS said the finale would resume from the point where it paused immediately after the address for Eastern and Central time-zone viewers on the CBS Television Network.
That instruction did not establish an exact return time: the address’s scheduled start was known, but its duration was not specified in the advisory. “Immediately after” is the most precise return timing CBS provided.

Did CBS say the full finale would air?
Yes. CBS said the finale would air in its entirety. Its advisory described the interruption and resumption plan for Eastern and Central viewers; it did not provide an affiliate-by-affiliate guarantee beyond that statement.
Is this the current Survivor finale schedule?
No. The Dec. 17, 2025 schedule is historical. CBS’s episode guide lists Season 51, with episodes dated Sept. 23, Sept. 30 and Oct. 7, 2026, as of the guide’s Oct. 7, 2026 listing. A separate CBS advisory for an April 1, 2026 episode also described an interruption for a scheduled presidential address, but it does not establish the duration or return time of the December 2025 address: CBS’s April 1, 2026 advisory.
