There is no well-supported public account of a falling-out between Gwyneth Paltrow and Beyoncé. Reports described them as friends and showed signs of continued contact after Paltrow and Chris Martin announced their separation in 2014. A 2018 rumor linking Paltrow to Jay-Z’s alleged infidelity was denied by her representative. Fewer public appearances do not establish that the friendship ended, and the available reports do not verify its present-day status.
What the public record shows
Entertainment coverage placed Paltrow and Beyoncé in overlapping social circles with their then-partners, Chris Martin and Jay-Z. A 2016 E! retrospective said Paltrow and Martin’s 2014 separation did not outwardly appear to disrupt the broader friendship. E!’s retrospective
ET reported that Beyoncé stayed at Paltrow’s Brentwood home during an August 2014 stop on the On the Run tour. It also reported that Paltrow said she called Beyoncé after the Met Gala elevator incident involving Solange and Jay-Z. How the 2018 rumor began—and how it was answered
In July 2018, Amber Rose speculated that Paltrow was the woman referred to as “Becky with the good hair,” a phrase associated with the infidelity discussed around Beyoncé’s 2016 album Lemonade. Rose also suggested that Paltrow and Beyoncé were no longer seen together. That was speculation, not independently established evidence of an affair or a friendship ending.

Paltrow’s representative denied the allegation to ET, saying: “The whole story is completely absurd and 100 percent false.” The representative was not named in ET’s report. ET’s report of the denial
