Psy is still performing: in 2026 he headlined Summer Swag, a concert series scheduled for 14 shows across nine South Korean cities. “Gangnam Style” also passed 6 billion YouTube views in July 2026. Separately, police referred Psy and five others to prosecutors over alleged medical-law violations; that referral is not a conviction, and the case’s final outcome has not been reported in the sources cited here. His current net worth is not reliably established by public evidence.

Why is “Gangnam Style” back in the news?
On July 17, 2026, “Gangnam Style” passed 6 billion views on YouTube, about 14 years after the song’s July 2012 release. Yonhap reported the milestone based on an announcement from Psy’s agency, P Nation, and described it as the first K-pop music video to reach that view count. The song peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100. Yonhap’s report on the 6-billion-view milestone provides the dated details.
What is the reported legal case about?
The agency statement in 2025
In August 2025, police were investigating allegations that Psy had received prescriptions for Xanax and Stilnoct without in-person hospital visits and had other people collect the medication. In a statement quoted by Yonhap, P Nation said Psy had a chronic sleep disorder and took sleeping pills as prescribed by his doctor. The agency acknowledged that a third party had collected prescribed medication on some occasions, described that as a mistake, and denied that the prescriptions themselves were issued by proxy. Yonhap’s August 2025 report sets out the allegations and the agency’s response.

The referral to prosecutors in 2026
Yonhap reported on June 2, 2026, that police referred Psy, the prescribing doctor and four other people to prosecutors on May 29, in a case concerning alleged violations of South Korea’s Medical Service Act. A referral sends the matter on for further proceedings; it does not establish guilt. The cited report describes the referral, not a conviction or a final decision by prosecutors or a court. Yonhap’s report on the referral is the latest case update documented here.

No reliable current net-worth figure is established by the public evidence cited here. Celebrity-wealth websites circulate estimates, including a $60 million figure, but the cited material does not show audited accounts, public filings or documented asset calculations behind it. Treat such numbers as unverified estimates—not as a confirmed valuation of Psy’s finances.

Neither the 6-billion-view milestone nor the reported concert schedule is enough to calculate his personal wealth. YouTube views and ticketed performances do not, on their own, disclose revenue, expenses, ownership shares, taxes or other assets and liabilities. Without transparent financial records or a well-documented valuation, a precise figure would be speculation.
