ARKEG did not get a deal on Shark Tank, and the company later appears to have stopped operating. The arcade cabinet that combined video games with a built-in keg cooler and tap was pitched by founders Brant Myers and Dan Grimm in 2013. Business-history accounts report an attempt to sell the business and its remaining units in 2015, followed by operations ending around 2016; they do not establish a formal dissolution date or confirm that an original unit is available today.
What was ARKEG?
ARKEG was a single cabinet designed to serve two functions: a classic arcade gaming experience and chilled draft beer from an integrated keg cooler and tap. Its pitch aimed to combine a home arcade machine and beverage dispenser rather than sell either as a standalone product.
That combination also helps explain the product’s high price point. According to a 2022 pitch recap, the founders said ARKEG retailed for $4,000. The recap reports that the company had sold 20 units over two years, or about $80,000 in sales; these are historical figures reported from the pitch, not independently audited results or current business data. What happened on Shark Tank?
Myers and Grimm appeared on Season 4, Episode 12, which aired January 4, 2013. They asked for $100,000 in exchange for 33% equity. The Sharks passed, so ARKEG left the show without an investment. The pitch terms and sales figures are reported by Shark Tank Update; no primary-source transcript or verified founder quotation is available in the cited accounts.

What happened to the business afterward?
2015: reported attempt to sell
A business-history account says ARKEG attempted to sell the business along with eight remaining units in 2015. That report establishes an attempted sale, not that a buyer completed a purchase or acquired the company’s assets. Gazette Review
Around 2016: operations appear to end
Later business recaps place the end of ARKEG’s operations around 2016; one cites April 1, 2016 as the last known in-business date. That should not be treated as a confirmed legal dissolution date. Can you still buy an original ARKEG?
Current availability of an original ARKEG has not been verified. The available accounts do not confirm present-day inventory, resale listings, replacement parts, or service support. A home arcade cabinet or a home kegerator may offer one part of the concept, but neither is an ARKEG-branded replacement, and compatibility with the original product is not established.
If you are looking for a similar setup, assess gaming and beverage equipment separately: compare game selection and play experience for arcade cabinets, and cooling capacity and dispensing setup for kegerators. Also check each product’s dimensions, installation needs, current availability, and service options; the historical ARKEG accounts do not provide tested comparisons with current products.
