Spoilers for Invincible season 3, episode 8, “I Thought You’d Never Shut Up.” Mark’s battle with Conquest leaves him gravely injured and Atom Eve apparently dead—but Eve recovers, and Mark stops Conquest. Mark believes his enemy is dead; Cecil later reveals that the GDA has secretly kept Conquest alive. The finale also sets up several future conflicts and includes a mid-credits scene with Damien Darkblood.
How the fight with Conquest ends
Conquest arrives after the Invincible War while Mark is already exhausted, but Mark refuses to give in. Their fight devastates the surrounding area and injures Mark, Oliver, and Eve. Conquest’s assault leaves Eve appearing to have died.
Eve survives and attacks Conquest
Under extreme stress, Eve’s powers override the mental restrictions that usually limit them. She reconstructs her body and unleashes a powerful energy attack that burns Conquest. Eve’s apparent death is therefore not the end of her story in this episode.
Mark believes he has killed Conquest
Mark ultimately stops Conquest and leaves believing he has killed him. That belief is wrong: Cecil has concealed Conquest’s survival, and the GDA is holding him in a secure underground facility in the hope of questioning him about the Viltrum Empire.

What Mark tells Oliver about killing
After the fight, Mark tells Oliver that he will use lethal force against anyone who threatens his family or the people he loves. Radio Times quotes him saying: “They hurt so many people, ruin so many people’s lives… so if anyone else ever puts my family or anyone I love at risk, I won’t hesitate to kill them.”
The statement marks a harder position after repeated threats and losses. It does not mean Mark has stopped caring about the consequences of violence; it shows how far his experience has pushed his willingness to use it.

What the closing montage sets up
The finale’s montage offers glimpses of unresolved threats and alliances rather than tying up every storyline:
- The Sequids: Rus is building an army of Sequid-possessed people, pointing to renewed danger from the alien parasites.
- Battle Beast: Aliens find him, setting up another thread for the story to revisit.
- Angstrom Levy and the Technicians: The Technicians heal Angstrom and enter a partnership with him, creating a new alliance whose consequences remain unresolved.
What happens in the mid-credits scene?
The mid-credits scene returns to Damien Darkblood. He meets a demon overlord and helps the demon seek to restore its rule by exploiting a powerful being on Earth. It is a mid-credits scene, not a post-credits scene.

Prime Video’s official catalog lists season 3 as eight episodes; availability and viewing terms may vary by region.
