At the 2026 Grammy Awards, Bad Bunny accepted Album of the Year for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS with remarks delivered mostly in Spanish, then dedicated the award in English to people who had left their homeland to pursue their dreams. The speech joined gratitude to the people around him with a message of Puerto Rican pride and solidarity with migrants.
What Bad Bunny said in the Album of the Year speech
The Associated Press (AP) reports that Bad Bunny opened by addressing Puerto Rico. Its English rendering of his Spanish remarks reads: “Puerto Rico, believe me when I tell you that we are much bigger than 100 by 35,” followed by, “And there is nothing we can’t achieve.” AP explains “100 by 35” as a colloquial reference to the island’s small size.
He then thanked God, the Recording Academy, the people who had believed in him throughout his career, those who worked on the album, and his mother. He closed with an English dedication: “I want to dedicate this award to all the people who had to leave their homeland to follow their dreams.”
What “100 by 35” means in the speech
The phrase points to Puerto Rico’s approximate dimensions in miles. In context, it is a way of saying that the island’s small physical size does not limit what its people can achieve. The reported translation makes that connection explicit with the line, “And there is nothing we can’t achieve.”

Why the speech was bilingual
The Recording Academy describes the Album of the Year speech as mostly Spanish. In its account, Bad Bunny switched to English for the dedication to people who had left their homeland to follow their dreams. The combination links his remarks about Puerto Rico to a broader message of recognition for people who migrate in pursuit of a future.
Which Grammy speech this was
This was Bad Bunny’s Album of the Year acceptance speech for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, not his earlier speech after winning Best Música Urbana Album. The AP reports that the earlier speech included a separate “ICE out” message. The Album of the Year remarks centered on gratitude, Puerto Rican pride, and people who leave their homeland.
