What the episode is called
Episode 1 of Season 2 is “Here We Woe Again.” It is the only episode-level title the official sources establish, so use it when searching or referring to the premiere. Netflix’s Tudum preview covers the first six minutes of the episode, which means it tells you how the story is set up but not how it resolves.
What the official preview sets up
Netflix’s preview describes Wednesday as having mastered her psychic powers and pursuing a childhood obsession: the Kansas City Scalper, which the preview calls “America’s most elusive serial killer.” That is the premise the episode opens on. The preview does not show how the investigation progresses, who the Scalper is, or whether Wednesday’s pursuit leads to any result in Episode 1.
Because the preview is limited to the opening minutes, treat it as a hook rather than a plot summary. Any further events you read about in Episode 1 should be checked against an episode-level Netflix listing or the episode itself.

Season 2 context at Nevermore
Season 2 returns Wednesday to Nevermore Academy and its Gothic setting, where new foes and mysteries are introduced. Netflix’s cast guide describes the season as Wednesday navigating family, friendships, and old adversaries after her return to the school.
Co-showrunner Miles Millar, quoted by Netflix Tudum, explained the shift in tone and scale. Wednesday goes into the season believing she knows Nevermore, but the school is no longer the place she remembers. In his words, “We have a broader canvas and more toys to play with. The world of Nevermore is much expanded — and we had a great time doing it.” Millar also described Wednesday’s assumptions as the season’s central pressure point: she expects to be in control and believes she knows “where all the bodies are buried,” and the season is built around showing her she does not.

- Returning cast: Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, along with Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Victor Dorobantu, and Hunter Doohan.
- Series regulars named by Netflix: Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo.
Millar has also spoken about Ortega’s work in the role, saying in Netflix’s Tudum coverage that she “brings such incredible intelligence, humor, and instinct to the role,” and that “Wednesday can be a confounding character. She never reacts to situations in an expected way.”

What the official sources do not establish
The available official material does not confirm Episode 1’s full plot, runtime, director, or complete episode-specific credits. If a guide gives you a runtime or a director for “Here We Woe Again,” check it against an episode-level Netflix listing before relying on it. The same applies to any claim about how the Kansas City Scalper storyline develops after the opening.

Season 2 is available on Netflix. Netflix stated that all eight Season 2 episodes were streaming as of September 3, 2025, so the full season has been available since that date. Availability depends on territory and subscription terms, and the official title page is the place to confirm whether the show is included in your region and plan.
