Watch Body Count perform “Comfortably Numb” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The performance aired on the Dec. 4, 2024 episode and features the band’s reworking of the Pink Floyd song.
What Body Count changed in “Comfortably Numb”
Body Count’s version appears on the band’s album Merciless, with new lyrics by frontman Ice-T. Pink Floyd’s original, co-written by David Gilmour and Roger Waters, appeared on the 1979 album The Wall. JamBase describes the Fallon appearance as a performance of Body Count’s reworking.
Gilmour played guitar on the studio recording for Merciless; that contribution does not establish that he appears in the Fallon performance. Ice-T described his interpretation as personal and reflective: “For me ‘Comfortably Numb’ is an introspective song—it’s me acknowledging that I’m older now.” JamBase reported that Gilmour said the words struck him and that he offered to play after Ice-T asked permission to use the song.

Body Count’s official press page also links a separate Ice-T interview with Fallon about the song and collaboration. The interview is distinct from the performance video.
