It was a crowd chant, not evidence of an official travel ban; Paul later said he was not banned in an official way.
What did the crowd chant at Logan Paul on Raw?
The chant broke out during a six-man tag match at the January 19, 2026, episode of Raw in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Paul teamed with Austin Theory and Bronson Reed against Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and Penta. Reports commonly transcribed the fans’ words as “Logan Paul. He’s banned from Japan.” F4W/WON and Fightful both reported that wording. Audience transcriptions varied slightly, so it should be understood as a reported chant rather than an official transcript.
Why did fans bring up Japan?
The taunt recalled the backlash to a 2017 video Paul filmed in Aokigahara, a forest in Japan. The video included footage of a person who had died by suicide. Paul removed it after public criticism and apologized in January 2018, according to F4W/WON and POST Wrestling.
The phrase “banned from Japan” turns that controversy into a concise arena taunt. It does not establish that Japanese authorities barred Paul from entering the country. In 2024, Paul said on his podcast Impaulsive that he could go to Japan but wanted to be “invited back,” and described WWE as the likeliest route, as reported by POST Wrestling.

What did Logan Paul say about the chant?
Paul addressed it in a vlog. F4W/WON quoted him saying, “Bro, I’m not even banned from Japan, like officially,” and later, “I’m not banned from Japan. What the f***, bro? I’m actually not.” Fightful reported his clarification that he was “not banned from Japan in an official way.”
Paul also reacted to how the crowd had put the line together, asking, “How did a room full of absolute morons concoct such a brilliant chant?” His response acknowledged the chant’s construction while disputing its literal claim. The reports quote Paul’s account of his status; they do not provide an authoritative immigration record establishing his legal or entry status.
