Wagner Moura is directing Last Night at the Lobster, a comedy-drama adaptation of Stewart O’Nan’s novel. The November 2024 announcement named Elisabeth Moss, Sofia Carson and Brian Tyree Henry in the cast; a June 2026 roundup named Moss and Henry but omitted Carson, so her current attachment has not been confirmed either way.
What is Last Night at the Lobster about?
The story follows Manny, a manager at a chain seafood restaurant who learns, a week before Christmas, that the restaurant is closing. He must decide which employees to take with him to another location. A blizzard traps the staff, and they choose to spend one last night together at the Lobster.

The film adapts Stewart O’Nan’s novel. In the 2024 announcement, Carlo Bernard, Doug Miro, Jane Anderson and Eboni Booth were credited with the screenplay. Deadline’s report, republished by Yahoo Entertainment, described the project as a holiday story centered on work, loyalty and the people facing a restaurant’s final night.
