Vanna White announced on January 21, 2026, that she and longtime partner John Donaldson had married in a private ceremony. The couple said the wedding took place “a little while back,” but the announcement did not give an exact ceremony date or location.

White shared the news and wedding photos in a joint announcement. “Surprise! We got married!” she wrote, adding that she and Donaldson had been in love for more than a decade and had decided to make their relationship official in a private ceremony. ABC News and the Los Angeles Times reported the announcement on January 22, 2026.
When and where was the wedding?
The couple said the ceremony happened “a little while back,” without identifying a date or location. The reporting does not establish the venue, guest list, officiant, or other wedding logistics. January 21, 2026, is the date White announced the marriage, not a confirmed ceremony date.
Why did the announcement surprise readers?
In 2023, White described feeling married already, despite not having formally married Donaldson. In comments to People quoted by the Los Angeles Times, she said, “We’ve been together 12 years, and I feel like we are married.” She added: “Do we have to get married? No, because we feel comfortable in our relationship. You know what I mean? I know that he’s the one. He knows I’m the one.” Those remarks described how she felt at the time; they do not conflict with the later announcement that the couple married.

How White and Donaldson’s relationship began
According to the Los Angeles Times’ account of earlier People reporting, White and Donaldson met through a mutual friend at a barbecue in 2012. White’s 2023 description of their relationship as 12 years long and the couple’s 2026 description of being in love for more than a decade are statements from different points in time.
