Unsolved Case Files: Sandra Ivey is a fictional murder-mystery game, not a documentary about a real homicide. Players review case materials to investigate the death of Sandra Ivey, CEO of the fictional company Astro IV, aboard the Delta One commercial space station.
What is the Sandra Ivey case?
The official Sandra Ivey case page sets the story on August 10, 2021. At 11:10 a.m., Delta One loses power and contact with ground control. The official synopsis says the blackout lasts 40 minutes and that Sandra dies during it. Five other crew members are aboard, and none says they know what happened.
Solomon Hart, Sandra’s former chief of security, is sent to investigate. The case gives him 24 hours aboard the station to find out what happened. These dates and events are part of the game’s fictional premise, not verified spaceflight or crime reporting.
What do players have to solve?
Target’s product listing describes three objectives:

The official page poses the central mystery as “Who Killed Sandra Ivey?” The product is designed around examining evidence and witness accounts; the solution is not included here.
What comes in the game?
Target lists a physical case-file format with the following materials. Retailer specifications can change, so check the listing for the contents of the version currently offered.
Rank #2
- Trouble's Looming: This horror mystery has an extended lakehouse vacation cut short when Ryan discovers his wife Monica dead. Investigate the crime scene and deduce who killed her.
- A case folder and evidence packet
- A newspaper article and station map
- Five witness packets with photos, plus a photo of the victim
- Seven supporting evidence documents
- Three bonus envelopes and instructions
Who is it for, and how long does it take?
Target lists the game for one or more players, ages 14 and up, with an estimated play time of two or more hours. Those are retailer listing details, not results from an independent gameplay test. The case’s investigation is presented as a single mystery, and the listing’s objectives indicate that players work through evidence toward a solution.
Why do listings give different blackout durations?
The official case synopsis says Delta One’s power and ground communications are lost for 40 minutes. Target’s overview instead says 28 minutes. The sources conflict; the official synopsis is the clearest reference for the game’s premise, so this article uses its 40-minute figure rather than combining the two. Neither duration describes a real station incident.
