He also said remakes were planned and pointed to the announced Assassin’s Creed Hexe as a different kind of experience from Assassin’s Creed Shadows. He gave no release dates for either. His comments on generative AI and cloud technology were possibilities for future games, not promises that those features would ship.
Ubisoft’s broader gaming direction
In an interview published by Ubisoft on June 27, 2024, after Ubisoft Forward, Guillemot described two areas of focus: open-world action-adventure games and Games as a Service experiences. He cited Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin’s Creed Shadows as examples of the former, and Rainbow Six Siege as an example of the latter. He said listening to players helps service-oriented games evolve. What he said about Assassin’s Creed releases
Asked whether the series would continue to mix smaller and larger games, Guillemot said Ubisoft intended to make releases more regular without making each one feel the same. His stated goal was: “The goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year.”
Remakes and variety
Guillemot said players could expect remakes that modernize older Assassin’s Creed games. He did not identify which games would be remade or give release dates in the interview. The comment signals an intention to revisit older entries, but does not establish a release schedule or what changes any remake would include.

Hexe as a distinct project
He named the already announced Assassin’s Creed Hexe as a forthcoming game intended to be very different from Shadows. The interview did not detail how its gameplay, size, or structure would differ, and supplied no launch date. It is therefore best understood as a promise of creative variety, not a disclosed specification.
Technology: examples and possibilities, not delivery promises
Guillemot pointed to Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ weather system as an example of environmental effects influencing gameplay. He also suggested generative AI could enrich non-player characters and open worlds, and described cloud technology and faster adoption of new technology as potential routes to new experiences. Those remarks expressed his outlook; they do not establish that AI-driven NPCs, cloud features, or any particular capability had shipped or were confirmed for a specific Assassin’s Creed title.

What later updates add
The 2024 interview is a dated account of Guillemot’s plans at that time. Later announcements provide additional context, but should not be mistaken for details he gave in that interview.
Ubisoft’s 2025 company structure
On July 16, 2025, Ubisoft announced that its new subsidiary, Vantage Studios, would focus on Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, with Christophe Derennes and Charlie Guillemot as co-CEOs. Development slate reported in February 2026
In a February 20, 2026 report, GameSpot quoted Guillemot from an interview with Variety as saying: “Under the Assassin’s Creed brand, several titles are in development, spanning both single-player and multiplayer experiences, with the ambition to further grow a community that exceeded 30 million players last year.” Because the statement was reported in February 2026, “last year” refers to 2025. The more-than-30-million figure describes the community, not game sales. The report did not give launch dates for those projects. GameSpot’s report on the titles in development.
That GameSpot report lists Assassin’s Creed Shadows as released on March 20, 2025, for Mac, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Platform availability and editions can change; check a current listing for the platform and version you intend to buy.

New Assassin’s Creed leadership in 2026
On February 23, 2026, Ubisoft announced Martin Schelling as Head of Assassin’s Creed Brand, Jean Guesdon as Head of Content, and François de Billy as Head of Production Excellence. Ubisoft described their remits respectively as brand strategy and long-term vision, creative direction and content, and production practices. The appointments indicate who was assigned to guide the franchise, but do not reveal a timetable or details for unreleased projects. Ubisoft’s leadership announcement.
