Tyler, The Creator played his album CHROMAKOPIA in full for fans at a listening event at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, on Sunday, October 27, 2024. He did not perform a conventional concert. He said he would stand in the middle of the venue and lip-sync to the new music, and tickets were reported at $5. The album was released the next morning, October 28, 2024, through Columbia Records.
Timeline of the event and release

Did Tyler perform?
Not in the conventional sense. Before the event, Tyler said, as reported by the Los Angeles Times on October 24, 2024: “I will not be performing,” and “I will be standing in the middle of the venue lip syncing to the new sounds.” The format was therefore a listening session with a staged presentation of the album, not a live set with a band.
The reporting reviewed for this article describes the plan and the format. It does not provide a moment-by-moment account confirming exactly how every part of the night unfolded, so the description of the performance should be read as the announced format rather than a full broadcast-level record.

Ticket price and streaming timing
Mikael Wood’s October 24, 2024 Los Angeles Times report says Tyler announced $5 tickets for the Intuit Dome event. That price was reported at announcement; the reporting does not describe any later pricing for the event.
The same Los Angeles Times report said the album would reach streaming services on Monday at 3 a.m. Pacific. Sony Music Canada’s release announcement confirms the release date as October 28, 2024, so the album arrived on the morning after the listening night.

The venue and stage design
USC Annenberg Media’s October 30, 2024 report describes a cross-shaped stage, green lighting, and a large figure of Tyler as part of the venue experience. These details come from that on-site report, not from an official event production document, so they describe what attendees saw as reported by one outlet rather than a published design specification.
The same report quotes Alex Reardon, identified as Tyler’s long-time creative director, on the scenic approach: “You walk in, you see the thing that looks cool, you take a picture of it and it anchors the experience.” Reardon’s explanation, as quoted, was that adding show-style visual changes without an underlying performance could distract from the audio. In other words, the design was meant to frame the listening experience rather than compete with the music.

Crowd size: what is and is not established
A USC student attendee, Gaby Medina, described the crowd reaction during “Sticky” as if all 17,000 attendees had reacted together, and USC Annenberg Media quoted her. That figure is an attendee’s description, not an independently verified attendance count. The official label, newspaper, and Associated Press sources reviewed do not establish a total attendance number, so the 17,000 figure should be treated as a participant’s estimate.
What the album is about
The Associated Press review describes CHROMAKOPIA as a 14-track album in which Tyler examines anxieties around age and fame. AP frames songs including “Hey Jane” and “Take Your Mask Off” around personal questions. It describes “Noid” as addressing celebrity-related paranoia and parasocial behavior, meaning one-sided emotional attachment from fans toward a public figure.
The reported themes across coverage include aging, fame, identity, family, and introspection. USC Annenberg Media reports that Tyler wrote, produced, and arranged the album and that it features guest appearances throughout.
Rank #4
At the event, AP reported Tyler connecting the record to what he thinks about when alone and to the changes he feels after his twenties. He said, as quoted by AP: “‘Oh, I’m not the guy I was at 20,’ he said. ‘I’ve got a gray hair on my chest. Life is life-ing. I just wanted to write about stuff I think about when I’m dolo.'” Here “dolo” is shorthand for the slang term “solo dolo,” meaning “by myself.”
Physical editions
Sony Music Japan’s official materials document a 14-song CD track list. Its CD track credits and versions differ in some respects from the streaming release, so listeners comparing formats should check the specific edition they are buying.
Best Value
Sony Music Japan also announced a domestic limited box set containing the CD, a T-shirt, a tote bag, a poster, and a special box. It was preorder-only, and individual shops could set different reservation deadlines. The preorder window was June 9 to 29, 2025. That window has closed, and the sources reviewed do not establish whether any copies remain in stock or which retailers still carry them, so do not treat the box set as currently available.
