Travis Kelce tied the Kansas City Chiefs’ regular-season franchise record with an 83rd touchdown in a 28–7 win over the Washington Commanders on Oct. 27, 2025. Taylor Swift was reported in attendance and cheering him on. The tie did not last: Kelce later passed Priest Holmes and became the franchise leader.
How Kelce tied the record against Washington
Kelce caught a 10-yard touchdown late in the third quarter of Kansas City’s home game against Washington. ESPN reported that the score brought Kelce to 83 regular-season touchdowns, level with former Chiefs running back Priest Holmes; the Chiefs won 28–7. ESPN’s game report and NFL.com’s account covered the milestone.
What the different touchdown totals mean
The numbers attached to the Washington game describe different categories, not conflicting counts. NFL.com reported that Kelce had 80 regular-season touchdown receptions, 83 total regular-season touchdowns, and 100 career touchdown catches when postseason games were included. The record he tied with that score was the Chiefs’ regular-season total-touchdown mark. NFL.com explains the categories.
Was Taylor Swift at the game?
Sporting News reported that Swift attended the Oct. 27 game and cheered Kelce. That is separate from the record itself: the NFL’s account of the milestone does not independently mention her. Sporting News’ coverage reported her presence.

Kelce later moved ahead of Priest Holmes
The Oct. 27 result marked a tie, not Kelce’s final position in the record book. The Chiefs’ player profile says he passed Holmes in Week 11 against Denver. In a Dec. 1, 2025 record update, the team listed Kelce with 85 touchdowns and Holmes with 83. The Chiefs’ Kelce profile and the team’s record update reflect that later change.

After the Washington game, quarterback Patrick Mahomes called Kelce “the true Chiefs Chief,” according to the NFL’s postgame account. Kelce said, “I just cherish these moments, man, being able to play at Arrowhead.” He also said, “In terms of the historical stuff, I’m still looking at the next game and the next catch and trying to get better.” NFL.com reported the remarks.
