Tool’s Australia and New Zealand dates in November and December 2025 are over. Rolling Stone Australia’s review portrays the band’s arena performance as a loud, visually disorienting, two-hour immersion built around long-form songs and less obvious selections—not a greatest-hits set. The Sydney festival appearance was shorter and included more familiar tracks, so no single setlist represents every stop.
What were Tool like live?
Rolling Stone Australia describes a sold-out room, forceful volume, intricate rhythms and melodies, and nightmarish imagery on the screens. The reviewer counted 13 songs across two hours and called the show “almost overwhelming at times, an intense and heady sensory experience.” That is the reviewer’s account of the performance, not a claim that every audience member experienced it the same way.

The show’s scale came from the combination of extended compositions, tightly interlocking playing and visual production. Rather than moving quickly through radio hits, the arena set gave substantial space to songs such as “Rosetta Stoned” and “Pneuma,” alongside less frequently played material.
What was the setlist?
The user-maintained setlist records show a close relationship between the Perth and Adelaide arena performances, but their order differed. The Sydney Good Things festival set was shorter and made different choices. These records are useful show-by-show evidence, not an official tour-wide archive.

Did the tour favor deep cuts or hits?
In the Rolling Stone Australia review, the arena set leaned toward deep cuts. The reviewer points to “Disposition” and “H.” in place of obvious alt-rock choices such as “Stinkfist”, “Ænima” and “Forty Six & 2”. The review also says “Crawl Away” had not been played live for 27 years; that interval is the publication’s account.
The festival set illustrates why the arena review should not be generalized to every date: its listed songs included “Stinkfist” and “Prison Sex,” while omitting “Disposition”, “Crawl Away” and the Black Sabbath cover that appeared in the Perth and Adelaide records.

What happened in the encore?
According to the Rolling Stone Australia review, Danny Carey opened the encore with “Chocolate Chip Trip”. Tool then played a faithful version of Black Sabbath’s “Hand of Doom”, before closing with “Invincible” and “Vicarious”. The reviewer reports that Maynard James Keenan allowed photos or filming during “Vicarious”. The Perth and Adelaide user-maintained setlists likewise list those four songs as the encore.
