This is an editorial top ten, not an official ranking: the available sources identify supporters but do not measure fame or the depth of anyone’s fandom by a common standard.
Top 10 celebrity Manchester City fans
The list balances public visibility, how clearly a source documents each person’s support, and representation across music, film, television, food and sport. The Premier League’s 16 March 2026 roundup supplies seven of the names; Manchester City’s own profiles provide more detail on the Gallagher brothers, while Ricky Hatton discusses his support in a 2024 interview.
-
Noel Gallagher
The Oasis songwriter is one of City’s most recognizable supporters. Manchester City says Gallagher has followed the club for more than 40 years, attends matches when his schedule permits and interviewed Pep Guardiola for the club after Guardiola became manager. Gallagher has also appeared at title celebrations. He has described the family connection with a wry twist: “Liam and I should by rights have been United fans.”
-
Liam Gallagher
Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher is a lifelong City supporter who began going to matches as a child. The club’s profile recounts his memories of City’s 5–1 win over Manchester United and Oasis concerts at Maine Road, as well as later appearances connected to the club. The Premier League also describes both brothers as lifelong supporters. Manchester City’s Liam Gallagher profile traces that relationship through the years.

Other documented celebrity City supporters
Doves members Jimi Goodwin and Andy Williams are two further Manchester music figures with documented connections to City. In Manchester City Magazine, Goodwin described a 1995 match as the moment he became a fan, while Williams recalled supporting City as a child and having City kit. Their first-person accounts make them credible alternatives for a list with more emphasis on Manchester’s music scene.
How to read this list
“Top ten” here means a curated selection of recognizable public figures with sourced connections to Manchester City. The Premier League roundup names the celebrity supporters but does not rank them; the order above is editorial, and the sources vary in how much personal detail they provide. Noel and Liam Gallagher and Ricky Hatton have accounts tied to particular experiences, while several other entries are supported by the Premier League’s identification alone.
