Tony Galati dropped in on a Spud King-themed bucks party in Fremantle after the group returned from a Swan River boat trip. PerthNow reported the visit on 4 March 2024; the exact Sunday date of the trip was not stated.
What happened at the Fremantle party?
PerthNow reported that the group spent the day aboard a boat on the Swan River, with the trip provided by Aquarius Charters and Cruises. Galati had been unable to make the group’s 1pm departure. When the boat returned at about 5pm, he met the attendees, posed for photos and videos, chatted with them and handed out fruit.
The charter company’s owner, identified by PerthNow only as Graham, called the sight the funniest thing he had seen in a decade of owning the business. Graham said Galati apologised for missing the departure, and that he “loved it, had a good laugh and chat with everyone.”
What did the attendees wear?
PerthNow described the Galati-inspired outfits as blue vests and singlets, shorts, bushy eyebrows and black curly wigs. The report did not identify an official costume or branded outfit; the look was assembled from recognizable costume elements.

Who is Tony Galati?
Galati is associated with the “Spud King” persona. In a City of Cockburn profile published on 19 November 2024, he said he grew up in Spearwood and spent his first 24 years working on his Italian parents’ market garden on Yangebup Road. That local background is separate from PerthNow’s account of the Fremantle party.
There had also been an earlier Galati-themed party report: The West Australian covered a separate event in Bayswater in March 2018. It was a different party and does not establish further details about the Fremantle gathering.
