Wordle #1327 hints, from gentle to specific
Work through these in order. Each one narrows the word further, and the last one gives the answer.
- Shape. The answer has five letters, two vowels, and it begins with a consonant. No letter repeats.
- Part of speech and meaning. As a noun, the word names a foot-operated lever, throttle or brake, according to Parade’s clue for the same puzzle.
- Context. Think of what a musician presses to change a piano’s sound, or what a cyclist presses to drive a bicycle forward. PC Gamer’s clue for the puzzle reads: “Whether used to play the piano or move a bike up a hill, you’ll more than likely need to put your feet on one (or two) of these.”

How the Wordle grid gives feedback
If you are solving a Wordle puzzle yourself, the game gives you six rows of five boxes. After each guess, every letter is coloured to show how it relates to the hidden word:

- Dark (absent): the letter is not in the answer.
- Yellow (present): the letter is in the answer, but in a different position.
- Green (correct): the letter is in the answer, in the correct position.
PC Gamer’s general advice for this format is to open with a mix of vowels and common consonants, then use the colours from that first guess to choose a narrower second guess. This is general guidance from one article, not a method that guarantees a solve.
About the clue sources
The hints on this page come from two publications that covered the same puzzle on February 5, 2025. PC Gamer’s article, written by Kerry Brunskill, supplied the piano and bicycle clue. Parade’s article, by Larry Slawson, supplied the vowel, starting-letter, repeated-letter and “foot-operated lever, throttle or brake” clues. Both articles gave the same answer, PEDAL.

Neither source published a player count, average guess total, or difficulty rating for this puzzle, so this page does not give one.
