The first official Transformers One trailer, published by Paramount Pictures on April 18, 2024, introduces Optimus Prime and Megatron before they became enemies. They are Orion Pax and D-16: friends whose relationship—and the fate of Cybertron—will change.
What the first trailer establishes
Paramount’s trailer description calls the movie the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, “once friends bonded like brothers.” Its tagline, “Every Transformer has an origin,” frames the film around how that bond gives way to the rivalry familiar from the franchise. The trailer introduces that premise; it is not a full account of every character’s history.

Who Orion Pax and D-16 become
| Before | After | Voice actor |
|---|---|---|
| Orion Pax | Optimus Prime | Chris Hemsworth |
| D-16 | Megatron | Brian Tyree Henry |
These names connect the film’s younger central characters to the leaders they become. Paramount’s synopsis focuses on their friendship and the change in their relationship, rather than suggesting that the trailer explains every step of their individual pasts.
