On the U.S. version of Deal or No Deal, Jessica Robinson won the $1 million top prize in 2008. The American-show history also records a later million-dollar winner, Tomorrow Rodriguez. The answer depends on the edition: Deal or No Deal is an international format, and not every version offers prizes in U.S. dollars.
Who won $1 million on the U.S. show?
Jessica Robinson
Jessica Robinson, from Sandy, Utah, became the first contestant on the U.S. show to win its $1 million top prize. A contemporaneous 2008 report said NBC announced the win during the show’s three-year run; the American-show history dates her episode to September 1, 2008. Reality TV World’s 2008 report provides the contemporaneous account.

What was the Million Dollar Mission?
In the regular U.S. game, cases contain different cash amounts. As cases are opened and their values removed from play, the Banker makes offers; the contestant can accept an offer or continue playing for the amount in their own case. Winning the top prize in a case is therefore different from accepting a Banker’s offer.

The Million Dollar Mission put multiple $1 million cases into play, creating more opportunities for a million-dollar case outcome than the regular board. NBCUniversal Access announced programming for the special format. Read the NBCUniversal Access announcement. The available sources do not establish a verified probability of winning, so a specific set of odds should not be inferred.

No single global answer follows from the U.S. results. The franchise has editions with different prize structures and currencies. For example, the Philippine edition reports prizes in Philippine pesos, not U.S. dollars. The Philippine edition reference illustrates why the country and currency matter; it does not establish a complete international winner count.
