Tate McRae opened the Australian dates of her Think Later tour at Perth’s Red Hill Auditorium on Friday, 8 November 2024. PerthNow’s review describes an energetic, dance-heavy 60-minute set, opening with “Think Later” and ending with “It’s ok” and “Greedy” as encore highlights. The concert drew praise for its choreography and crowd response, alongside criticism of a basic stage set and an underused LED screen.
What happened at Tate McRae’s Perth concert?
McRae’s Red Hill Auditorium performance was the first Australian date of the Think Later tour. The 6 November 2023 announcement placed Perth first in the Australian itinerary and named charlieonnafriday as support across the Australia and New Zealand dates. It described the wider tour as 53 dates across Europe, the UK, North America, Australia and New Zealand; that was the announced count at the time, not a current itinerary total. 313 Presents’ tour announcement
Kellie Balaam’s PerthNow review, published the day after the show, says McRae appeared shortly after 9 p.m. following a three-minute intro, wearing a yellow corset and matching shorts. Balaam reports that the audience was already anticipating the performance and that McRae quickly held its attention despite a sea of phones. PerthNow estimated the crowd at 5,000; that is the publication’s figure, not an independently audited attendance count. PerthNow’s review
How did the performance balance singing and choreography?
Both reviewers emphasize movement as a defining part of the show. PerthNow praises McRae’s energy and dancing, while Sam Mead’s review for The Music also highlights the choreography, dancers, production and crowd response. The Music’s review
#1 Best Overall
- High Fidelity: Hearprotek Music ear plugs do an effective job of bringing down the overall volume, blocking background noises at a comfortable level while preserving the sound clarity and sharpness and you will be able to hear different sound frequencies
- 20 db Noise Reduction: Comes with 2 sets of 20 db ear plugs in different sizes (small & standard), cutting up an impressive 20 db's of sound volume. You can always have your spare plug in case any plugs are fallen out unfortunately or missing
- Designed For Comfort: Made of high quality silicone material that provides comfort from prolonged usage. They are designed to have an ergonomic curved body that follows the shape of your ear canal, which provides a snag and comfortable fit
- Discrete & Portable: Low-profile design with translucent or frosted shells for a discreet look on stage, at concerts, clubs, or the office. Includes a soft silicone detachable cord and comes in a long-lasting aluminum case with a carabiner, making it easy to clip to belts or bags and keep your plugs secure
- Warm Tips: While these earplugs do not block all noise completely, they maintain music quality and keep the volume at a safer level. Not recommended for activities which need high noise reduction level like sleeping, hunting, or shooting
The accounts differ on backing tracks. PerthNow says McRae’s vocals came through without a backing track, except when songs paused for choreography or audience singing, and points to an acoustic “Stay Done” with a guitarist. Mead, by contrast, says the backing track carried some songs while McRae danced, while also noting stripped-back moments in which she sang in a spotlight. These are the reviewers’ descriptions of what they heard, not technical measurements of the concert’s audio.
What was Tate McRae’s Perth setlist?
PerthNow printed 18 setlist entries and described the performance as a 60-minute set. Its list begins with “Think Later”; the review identifies “It’s ok” and “Greedy” as encore highlights.

PerthNow awarded the concert 4 out of 5 stars, praising its energy and dancing. Its main reservations were visual: the stage set was basic, and the large LED screen could have been used more for graphics. The Music review likewise praises the choreography, production and crowd, but offers a distinct account of the role of backing tracks rather than a single shared verdict on the vocals.
