On 4 September 2021, vegan activist Tash Peterson and other protesters demonstrated outside Louis Vuitton’s Perth store wearing lingerie and carrying signs. PerthNow described it as Peterson’s third protest at the store; the “animal abuse” language came from the protesters, not an established finding about Louis Vuitton in the reports.
What happened outside the Perth store?
PerthNow reported on 7 September 2021 that the demonstration had taken place “on Saturday,” meaning 4 September. Its account says Peterson, then 27, and several other activists stood outside the Louis Vuitton store in lingerie. The report identified the outfit in its headline as purple lingerie and said at least five women were wearing lingerie. It also mentioned “Dominion Movement” tote bags and reported that City of Perth security was monitoring the scene. These are details reported by PerthNow.

According to PerthNow, the protesters carried signs with messages including “cruelty is not classy” and “If you’re not vegan you’re an animal abuser.” The report also quoted a caption Peterson attributed to her social-media post: “Third protest at Louis Vuitton and we thought it would be fitting to stay in our lingerie as why would you wear someone else’s skin when you can wear your own?” The accusation that animal-derived materials constitute animal abuse was the protesters’ advocacy position; the reports do not establish it as a finding about Louis Vuitton.
Why did Peterson say she was protesting?
The protest challenged the use of animal-derived materials in fashion. In a separate 6PR interview about her activism and an earlier Louis Vuitton store incident, Peterson said: “Nothing is more important than my activism, and I am willing to risk losing my jobs for these animals.” That statement explains her stated motivation, but the interview does not independently verify claims about animal-product supply chains.

PerthNow placed the outdoor demonstration after an incident earlier in August 2021, when Peterson entered the store wearing minimal clothing and carrying a placard. The report said she was charged with disorderly behaviour in public and was expected to appear in the Magistrates Court on 13 September. That charge concerned the earlier incident, not the 4 September outdoor protest.
A later PerthNow report, published in April 2022, said Peterson was found guilty of disorderly conduct over the earlier incident. It also reported that the two men charged alongside her were found not guilty. This is the court outcome as reported by PerthNow; the available reports do not establish an official court record here.
