Robert Irwin and Rorie Buckey announced on 17 February 2024 that they had decided to go their separate ways. “We wanted to share that we have decided to go our separate ways but profoundly appreciate all of the time spent together and wish one another all the very best into the future.
“We wish to express the gratitude and respect we have for one another as we continue journeys on different paths.

Why did Robert Irwin and Rorie Buckey break up?
They did not say. The joint statement offered no explanation, and the cited reporting did not establish a reason. The couple also explicitly said they would not comment further, so claims about the cause should not be treated as confirmed.
When were they together?
PerthNow said the relationship was believed to date to around November 2022, while noting it became public later. That timing is uncertain, so a precise start date or duration is not confirmed. They were publicly linked by 2023.

What Irwin said about dating after the split
In a 22 July 2024 follow-up, PerthNow reported that Irwin was asked about dating on The Kyle and Jackie O Show. He said he had been “absolutely flat out” and clarified that work, including television commitments, was keeping him busy.
