Unlock times differed by platform and region. TechRadar’s February 25, 2026, account of Capcom’s timing information described console releases as occurring at midnight local time in most regions, while PC followed a later global schedule. It reported the PC release for London at 05:00 on February 27. These are reported launch timings, not a guarantee for every storefront or location; the platform store’s local schedule determined the exact unlock time. TechRadar’s launch-time report
Steam currently displays February 26, 2026, as the release date. That differs from Capcom’s announced February 27 date because the PC unlock was listed at 05:00 UTC on February 27, which fell on February 26 in some North American time zones. Could you preload Resident Evil Requiem?
Yes, for eligible pre-orders on Steam: Capcom’s February 24, 2026, Steam Community notice said pre-order customers could pre-load the game ahead of launch. Capcom also warned that additional update data might need to be downloaded after release. Capcom’s Steam Community announcement
That notice does not establish the preload schedule for every platform or every edition. For PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, check the relevant store page or console library for whether a preload is available for your purchase and when it begins. Do not assume the Steam pre-order terms applied to other storefronts.

Is there early access?
The official Capcom release and preload notices reviewed do not establish an official paid or edition-based early-access period. They confirm the scheduled release and preloading for Steam pre-orders, but do not explicitly rule out every possible early-access arrangement. An early-delivered physical copy, if encountered, would be a retailer delivery incident rather than proof of an official early-access benefit.
