The remarks followed Bilson’s May 3, 2023 appearance on the Women on Top podcast, where she discussed sexual preferences and said she liked to be “manhandled.” She characterized the comment as joking. The available reporting does not establish what the job was or when the employer acted.
How did Bilson explain the comment later?
In a 2025 appearance on Nicole Byer’s Why Won’t You Date Me? podcast, Bilson revisited the incident. In a transcript of the episode, she described the remark as casual joking with friends and acknowledged how it could sound without that context: “When you’re talking like basically with girlfriends and you’re joking around, you know, and I said something like, I like to be manhandled, right? It didn’t sound great.” The Podscripts transcript is a third-party rendering of spoken remarks, not an official publisher transcript.

Bilson also offered her own theory about the employer’s reaction: “But I think it was a very conservative company, so they weren’t comfortable, maybe just talking about sex at all in general.” That was her interpretation, not a confirmed company policy or an employer’s stated reason. E! News search-result text dates the later episode to September 19, 2025, and says Bilson felt the experience changed how she shared information about her life; the page itself was unavailable to open. E! News and a September 24, 2025 TMZ report also repeat her characterization of the company as conservative.

- Bilson’s account: She said a job she had secured was taken away after her podcast remarks.
- The remark: She later recalled saying she liked to be “manhandled” and acknowledged that the phrase did not sound great out of context.
- The employer’s identity and rationale: The reporting cited here does not name the company or the job, and it does not include an employer response. Bilson’s view that the company was conservative should not be treated as an independently verified explanation.
So the direct answer is that Bilson says the job loss followed the sexual comment, but the specific employer, role and reason have not been independently established in the cited coverage.
