The reported $50 million lawsuit against Priscilla Presley is not about Elvis Presley’s death. Former business partners Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko sued Presley in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging fraud and breach of contract. The death-related allegation reported in connection with the case concerns Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, who died in 2023. It remains an allegation by the plaintiffs, not a court finding.
What the lawsuit alleges
The Associated Press reported on August 13, 2025, that Kruse and Fialko sought more than $50 million in damages. They alleged that Presley used their work and investment to build her brand while concealing an earlier agreement affecting the licensing rights to her name. They also alleged that Presley ended their business relationship after they helped broker a 2023 agreement connected to the dispute between Presley and her granddaughter, Riley Keough, over Lisa Marie Presley’s estate. These are the plaintiffs’ claims, not established facts. Associated Press
The amounts described in the plaintiffs’ account
- More than $50 million: the damages Kruse and Fialko reportedly sought; this is not an award.
- $6.5 million: the value of a 2005 name-rights licensing agreement with Elvis Presley Enterprises that the plaintiffs said Presley had made, as reported by AP from the complaint.
- $2.4 million: the payment the plaintiffs said they helped secure for Presley in the 2023 agreement tied to the estate dispute.
The latter two figures are part of the plaintiffs’ account as reported by AP; they should not be read as court-verified findings.
What the death-related allegation means
A report by The Independent described the plaintiffs’ allegation that Presley acted in relation to Lisa Marie’s life-support decisions to improve her position in the family estate dispute. This is a grave claim made in a civil lawsuit, not a finding by a court. It concerns Lisa Marie Presley, not Elvis Presley. Presley’s lawyer denied the claims. The Independent

What each side has said
Kruse and Fialko’s lawyer, Jordan Matthews, said his clients invested years of work and substantial sums in Presley’s brand and were betrayed. The Associated Press quoted him saying: “the evidence will establish that the real victims here are my clients, who invested millions and years of hard work into revitalizing Priscilla Presley’s brand, only to be betrayed and falsely accused once the money was on the table and every personal and business issue had been resolved.” That is advocacy by the plaintiffs’ counsel, not a judicial conclusion.
Presley’s attorney denied the allegations, according to AP. The parties’ opposing accounts are part of a wider business dispute: AP reported that Presley had sued Kruse and Fialko the previous year, alleging elder abuse and fraud. Those claims and the newer suit should not be treated as one case or as proven facts.

How this differs from the Presley family estate dispute
The business lawsuit is connected in the plaintiffs’ account to events around the dispute between Priscilla Presley and Riley Keough over Lisa Marie Presley’s estate. That connection does not make the $50 million case itself an estate ruling, and the separate proceedings should not be conflated. The reported 2023 agreement and the alleged business arrangement are elements of the plaintiffs’ case, not a resolution of the underlying family dispute.

The available reporting establishes that Kruse and Fialko filed the Los Angeles Superior Court suit and sought more than $50 million. A reliable current docket entry, ruling, settlement, or dismissal for this specific California action has not been verified. A copy of a complaint hosted by a third party is not an official court docket, and a Tennessee appellate docket concerning a different Presley matter does not establish the status of this lawsuit. The Los Angeles Times described it as a lawsuit brought by a former business partner. Los Angeles Times
