Unpaused returned with a second installment, Unpaused: Naya Safar, a five-film anthology that premiered on Amazon Prime Video on January 21, 2022, according to release-period reports. Rather than continue one plot, the films follow different people facing the pandemic’s effects on work, relationships, family life and public service. The reports confirm the original release platform, not current availability in any particular country.
What is Unpaused: Naya Safar?
Naya Safar—“new journey”—is the second installment of Unpaused. Though sometimes described as a web series, it is more precisely an anthology of five short films, each with its own characters and story. The films share a pandemic setting rather than a continuous storyline. Scroll’s January 15, 2022 announcement and The Indian Express’s release-day interview reported a January 21 premiere on Prime Video.

What are the five stories about?
The following plot descriptions were reported by India Today’s January 21, 2022 review. They describe the fictional films, not independent documentation of pandemic events.

The stories put different kinds of pressure in focus: employment and intimacy, the demands of a public helpline, confinement, separation between family members, and social stigma. The premise descriptions do not establish a ranking or a single overall tone for the anthology.
Who stars in it?
The release announcement lists Geetanjali Kulkarni, Neena Kulkarni, Priyanshu Painyuli, Saqib Saleem, Shreya Dhanwanthary and Rasika Agashe among the cast. The Indian Express interview identifies Dhanwanthary and Painyuli as the leads of The Couple.

What did the filmmakers say about The Couple?
In the Indian Express interview, director Nupur Asthana said the short explores how the couple’s relationship changes after the woman is laid off. She connected the premise to job loss and its effect on self-respect. Dhanwanthary described the story as reflective of what was happening outside, while Painyuli characterized couples during the pandemic as emotionally unsettled and trying to support each other. These are the participants’ perspectives, not general psychological findings.
Asthana also described the creative challenge of the short-film form: “I’m either used to telling (a story in) 10 hours, or 90 minutes. So it was very interesting to see what you can say in 25-30 minutes. Here, you keep your story to micro in a macro kind of situation. I think it’s a beautiful medium,”
Rank #3
The interview reported that The Couple was filmed with a minimal crew over three days. That production detail applies to this short, not necessarily to the other four films.
Where can you watch Unpaused: Naya Safar?
January 2022 release reports named Amazon Prime Video as the premiere platform. They do not establish whether the anthology remains available there now, or in which countries. Check the current Prime Video catalogue for your location before relying on the historical listing.
